The Department of Home Affairs is requesting a verification report for all transfer/rectification of visa applications. This report must be obtained from Home Affairs confirming the authenticity and validity of the visa, before submitting the application via VFS.
If the visa was issued by a SA Mission abroad, an email to the respective Mission has to be sent for them to confirm that they have issued the visa. Once Home Affairs receives this confirmation from the Mission, they will issue the verification report.
Home Affairs have not provided their processing time for verifying the visa’s, however they have confirmed that due to the different time zones and operating hours of foreign missions, it may take longer to verify a visa.
Upon receiving the verification report from Home Affairs, the applicant may book his/her appointment at VFS on order to submit their transfer/rectification of visa application.
Please expect a slight delay with the respective applications.
